Know when to pause and when to get help.
Pause when an offer leaves the medicine or the people behind it unclear. If severe symptoms are happening now, the urgent-help section comes first.

Clear details to check
A named health professional, a named dispensing pharmacy, and a written explanation give you something concrete to review.
A claim that does not match the product
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) calls approval claims for made-to-order, or compounded, drugs misleading (as of September 26, 2026).
FDA also flags offers that supply prescription medicine without screening and a prescription from a licensed doctor.
A low price alone cannot tell you whether an offer is legitimate.
The Federal Trade Commission warns that demands to pay only by bank transfer, gift card, or digital money such as Bitcoin are signs of a scam.

Keep details for a concern or report
Keep the product label, the pharmacy’s name, the prescription, and a note of what happened.
MedWatch is FDA’s medicine-problem reporting route for patients as well as health professionals.
A report of a problem does not, by itself, prove that the medicine caused it.
California’s Medical Board handles complaints about medical doctors (MDs); the State Board of Pharmacy handles pharmacy concerns.
The Medical Board does not handle an argument about charges alone. If the argument also stops you getting safe medical care, describe that care problem in your complaint.
For an ordinary disagreement about a drug price or an insurance bill, the pharmacy board is not the place to complain.
Ask the billing office to explain a disputed charge, and ask your insurer about a disputed insurance payment.
For a business problem such as a misleading advertisement or a refund dispute, you can complain to the California Attorney General’s office. It cannot represent you in a personal legal case and may share your complaint with the business.
Report a business or refund concernReporting is a separate step from getting the care you need now.
